About me
briersart's FriendsI was encouraged by my husband to return to painting a few years ago. I attended evening classes at the local high school where I was lucky enough to be encouraged by a wonderful teacher. It was the best thing I have ever done.
I work full time but spend most of my spare time painting. House work what is that!!!
I love watercolours and oil painting but have recently ventured into acrylics and pastels.
As far as subject matter I paint most subjects usually from photographs, but I love painting animals and have done many dog portraits. I also love landscape and flower subjects, in other words I paint anything and everything, so if you have a favourite photo that you would love to see interpreted into a painting get in touch.
I exhibited regularly at venues around Cheshire, but have had work accepted at several prestigious Open Exhibitions including the 3 Counties Exhibition at Keele University, the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and the Waterside Gallery in Sale, Cheshire.
I have had a painting exhibited at the NEC in Birmingham, the portrait of Lizzy the greyhound was selected by "Leisure Painter" magazine to be one of thirty paintings exhibited at the Art Materials Live show in 2009. Unfortunately Lizzie wasn't voted best in show, but a photo of the painting appeared in the February edition of "Leisure Painter" magazine.
